Note: Until you read and follow these instructions,  this website's menu is designed to remain inactive.

• This site is best viewed in full screen mode, rather than in a smaller window.
• With Internet Explorer, you can toggle back and forth using the F11 key. Other browsers usually offer this option via alternate key commands.

• Internal web pages (hosted by MTSU) on the main- and sub-menus mostly load within this window.
• Internal web pages that are optional load in a pop-up window (e.g. the glossary of terms).
• Likewise, external web sites load in pop-up windows (e.g. the U.S.G.S.'s visual earthquake glossary).
• You should close pop-up windows when you are done viewing their contents.

• The button menu on the left is designed to be opened in order from top to bottom (with the exception of the Glossary and Help buttons; you can access those at any time).
• All of the Lesson buttons contain submenu items. You should also open those in order, top to bottom.
• In addition to the menu, you can use the Forward arrow button  at the bottom of each Lesson topic page to navigate from Topic to Topic and Lesson to Lesson.

• You can resize the button menu frame on the left by placing the mouse cursor on the vertical line that divides the screen, and then click and hold down your left mouse button. While still holding down your mouse button, move the line left or right to adjust the frame width.
• If you narrow the frame, you'll want to move it back later to reveal the submenus that appear when you click on the button menu.

If you want to view this page again later, a modified version is available via the Help menu.
