This 1983 film is based on the true-life tragedy of Playmate of the Year Dorothy Stratten and her manager-husband Paul Snider as they battle for control of her body, her mind, and her money, with gruesome results. Eric Roberts is overpowering as the vile Snider.
Mariel Hemingway plays Stratten. Cliff Robertson plays the Hugh Heffner character.
The film is Directed by Bob Fosse and was his last film. Other great films by Fosse include: All That Jazz, Lenny (both of which are excellent character studies of people going through emotional turmoil) and Cabaret.
Key questions: If you had been Snider in this money, power, and sex obsessed society we have created; then how would you have handled the relationship with Dorothy?
