Most student journals do not accept simultaneouos submissions, so you should never submit an article to one journal while it is being considered by another unless both journals have specifically given you permission to do so. The Student Scholar Program provides a means for college students or recent graduates to publish academic papers before a global audience. These are papers that were written by the students to fulfill class and graduation requirements of their respective academic institutions. Papers submitted will be evaluated and those selected will be published as articles in the Anthropology Journal of the online magazine, Popular Archaeology. Imponderabilia - the international student anthropology journal
A multidisciplinary student journal, a platform to share and exchange ideas, criticisms and reflections on anything anthropological (in the widest sense of the word - on anything related to culture and society). With contributions from students from different countries and disciplines, Imponderabilia tries to blur and overcome the boundaries between institutions, disciplines, theories, and between undergraduates and postgraduates. Learning & Teaching: The International Journal of Higher Education in the Social Sciences
Learning and Teaching (LATISS) is a peer-reviewed journal that uses the social sciences to reflect critically on learning and teaching in the changing context of higher education. The journal invites students and staff to explore their education practices in the light of changes in their institutions, national higher education policies, the strategies of international agencies and developments associated with the so-called international knowledge economy.
NEXUS: The Canadian Student Journal of Anthropology
A graduate student-run publication of the Department of Anthropology, McMaster University, Canada, dedicated to circulating excellent student works from all sub-fields of anthropology to a wider audience. Papers in either English or French are welcome from both undergraduates and graduate students of Canadian and international colleges and universities. Submissions addressing any area of anthropology are encouraged, as are reviews of current issues in the discipline and/or the presentation of original anthropological research.
Parabola
A quarterly journal devoted to the exploration of the quest for meaning as it is expressed in the world's myths, symbols, and religious traditions, with particular emphasis on the relationship between this store of wisdom and our modern life. Each issue of Parabola is organized around a theme. Parabola welcomes original essays and translations; lively, penetrating material unencumbered by jargon or academic argument; prefer well-researched, objective, and unsentimental pieces that are grounded in one or more religious or cultural tradition.

The URC Undergraduate Research Journal is an annual online national, reviewed journal dedicated to the publication of undergraduate student research. Analecta Literary and Fine Arts Journal
Student-run publication committed to finding exceptional work by both undergraduate and graduate students across America. Analecta features a manifold collection of poetry, prose (both essays and fiction), dramatic works, and visual arts. Prize contest is open to undergraduate and graduate university students at any university.
The Bloomsbury Review
Tom Auer, the founder of The Bloomsbury Review: "We don't plug the mega-bestsellers. We don't push celebrity biographies or "how-to-get-richer-thinner-smarter-happier books." And we don't hype books or authors that are reviewed in every newspaper and magazine in the country. You hear enough about them already. Cave Wall
Cave Wall is a national literary magazine dedicated to publishing the best in contemporary poetry. Poems of any length and style from both established and emerging poets. Each issue includes black & white art, as well.
The Chattahoochee Review
The Chattahoochee Review is sponsored by Georgia Perimeter College as part of The Southern Academy for Literary Arts and Scholarly Research. The Review is committed to exploring literature in translation and to writers who transgress borders, cultural and otherwise. While the Review features poetry, fiction, nonfiction, interviews, reviews, and occasional graphic work, they are also open to nontraditional forms. The Review values established writers but take great pride in discovering new voices.
Collage: A Journal of Creative Expression   {Creative Work: Art/Literature}
Collage is published by the University Honors College at Middle Tennessee State University and accepts submissions from students currently enrolled at MTSU. Since 1968, Collage has been a student-produced, bi-annual magazine of creative arts. Submissions of poetry, prose, art, and photography are accepted year-round.
Collision Literary Magazine   {Creative Work: Literature}
Founded in 2001, Collision Literary Magazine is one of the few undergraduate publications in the nation dedicated exclusively to creative non-fiction and non-fiction poetry. Each semester, Collision publishes personal essays, narratives, travel pieces, profiles, poems, art and photgraphy by undergraduate students from around the world. Collision is a publication of the University Honors College at University of Pittsburgh.
Diesis: Footnotes on Literary Identities
Diesis is an open-access journal of literary criticism devoted to the exploration of authorial, literary, and socio-political identities across time, space, and genre. While they encourage more experienced scholars to submit to and utilize this forum, Diesis is particularly interested in working with and publishing burgeoning scholars (promising undergraduate students, graduate students, and new scholars) interested in the field of literary criticism.
Ezra: an online journal of translation
A forum for poetry and translation that wants to stimulate the under-explored arts of reading in other tongues and translating for an English audience. it aims both for new knowledge of world writers and for the creation of beautiful new works. Interested in any form, style, tone or era, Ezra is dedicated to the spirited interplay of cultures, and to the presence of the laurel itself in the act of literary translation: to the transformative, promethean, synthesizing essence of poetry.
Fugue   {Creative Work: Literature}
A journal of new literature edited by graduate students within the University of Idaho's English and Creative Writing Programs. Since 1990, Fugue has been promoting diverse literary voices of new and established writers. Awards cash prizes and publication for prose and poetry in their annual spring contest. Individual issues may have themes.
The Georgia Review
Published quarterly by The University of Georgia since 1947, The Georgia Review features an eclectic blend of essays, fiction, poetry, graphics, and book reviews. Appealing across disciplinary lines, the Review draws its material from a wide range of cultural interests - including, but not limited to, literature, history, philosophy, anthropology, politics, film, music, and the visual arts. The Greensboro Review
The Greensboro Review is published by the MFA Writing Program at Greensboro. Unsolicited manuscripts must be postmarked by 15 September to be considered for the Spring issue (acceptances in December) and February 15 to be considered for the Fall issue (acceptances in May). Manuscripts postmarked after those dates will be held for the next consideration. All manuscripts meeting requirements will be considered for publication in The Greensboro Review as well as for The Robert Watson Literary Prizes.
Hayden's Ferry Review   {Creative Work: Literature}
Hayden's Ferry Review's mission is to be considered one of the prominent literary journals in the international literary community by providing a forum to showcase the voices of emerging and established talents in creative writing and visual art in a format that is not tied down to particular styles, schools of thought, aesthetics, or ideologies; and without compromising our commitment to and support of emerging artists.
Indiana Review
Indiana Review is published semiannually in May and December. Accepts poems, stories, and nonfiction that are well-crafted and lively, have an intelligent sense of form and language, assume a degree of risk, and have consequence beyond the world of their speakers or narrators. Visual art submissions are accepted also.

Into the Teeth of the Wind
Into the Teeth of the Wind is a poetry review sponsored by the College of Creative Studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara. It is a student-run review that is dedicated to publishing quality poetry in all of its various manifestations, from the strictly formal to the exotically eclectic. They publish from one to four issues per year and accept both poetry and art submissions year-round from around the world.

Reed Magazine
Reed Magazine is one of the oldest student publications west of the Mississippi. In its earlier incarnations it was called El Portal in the 1930s and in the 1920s as The Quill. Reed Magazine was first numbered by year and volume in 1948 as The Reed. At the time, the magazine was put together by San Jose State University's literary society, Pegasus, with help from the Associated Student Body. Reed Magazine is a college-produced literary magazine that appears annually in the spring. Reed Magazine welcomes submissions of short fiction, poetry, and non-fiction from across the nation. Maintained by the English Department at San Jose State University.
roger - art and literary magazine
roger contributes to the tradition of literary journals by publishing fresh and energetic poetry and prose by established and emerging writers, both nationally and internationally. roger is currently published annually by the Department of Creative Writing at Roger Williams University, Bristol, Rhode Island. The magazine maintains a faculty-based editorial board that works with undergraduate students who participate in an academic program in literary publishing. Assistant editors and staff members are undergraduate students at Roger Williams University.
Sanctuary
A regional publication dedicated to publishing original works of poetry, short stories, essays, translations, music, photography, and illustrations by anyone affiliated with the University of Alabama at Birminghm's University Honors Program and students and faculty from other Honors Programs that are current members of the Southern Regional Honors Council. Works included in the journal are selected by the Sanctuary editorial board.
Silk Road - A Journal of Writings on Place
Editors welcome submissions of American and international poetry, fiction, nonfiction, travel articles, environmental writing, translations, drama, critical writing, interviews, book reviews or any written or visual form that assumes where we are is crucial to who we are. Silk Road is maintained at Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon.
Skipping Stones
A nonprofit magazine for youth that encourages communication, cooperation, creativity and celebration of cultural and environmental richness. It provides a playful forum for sharing ideas and experiences among youth from different countries and cultures. It is an ad-free, ecologically-aware, literary magazine! Publishes five bimonthly issues during the school year. Founded in 1988, Skipping Stones is a timely and timeless award-winning resource in multicultural education. Skipping Stones welcomes art and original writings in every language and from all ages.
Susquehanna Review
This journal is interested in undergraduate writing with fresh language, complexity, strong character development, emotional resonance, and momentum. The editors want to read something they haven't read before. They want your language to linger in them long after they've finished the piece. Please read past issues for examples of what they're looking for. There is no entry fee. All submissions to SU Review will automatically be under consideration for the contest, with the exception of students of Susquehanna University. The contest will be judged by one of the Susquehanna University Creative Writing faculty. SU Review will hold a contest for the best piece of poetry ($100) and the best piece of prose ($100) in the issue.
West Branch
The editors of West Branch welcome submissions of poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction, and translation. They read unsolicited manuscripts between August 15 and April 15. They print only original, unpublished work. For accepted work, they purchase First North American serial rights. West Branch Wired is a distinct quarterly extension of the semiannual print magazine.

Business and Economics

The Journal is a student run journal committed to promoting research and writing by undergraduate students around the world in the field of development economics. The journal is looking for papers, essays and articles on topics in the field of economic development. Eligible to submit are all undergraduate students enrolled in a program related to economic development. Papers and essays written for classes, honours theses, based on fieldwork experience or written independently are welcome.
  Issues in Political Economy - Undergraduate Student Research in Economics
Issues in Political Economy is committed to supporting and encouraging quality undergraduate research in all areas of economics. The journal is edited and refereed entirely by students, with oversight from faculty at the University of Mary Washington and Elon University. The only requirements for submission are that the article pertains to some aspect of economics, that it was written during undergraduate study, and that it be submitted through a faculty sponsor. Though submissions on all topics in economics will receive consideration, papers should be analytical and seek to add new understanding to the topic.
Michigan Journal of Business
The Michigan Journal of Business is a bi-annually published academic journal run by undergraduate students at the Stephen M. Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan. The Journal is the first undergraduate business journal in the United States with a worldwide audience, currently being distributed to over 150 University libraries in five continents. The inaugural edition generated submissions from top business schools and economics departments in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom, spanning involvements from institutions including Harvard University, Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania, and the London School of Economics. The Journal has recently been accepted into the Directories of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), a scholarly journal database that enlists more than 3000 of the world’s leading publications. Electronic Journal  SS-AAEA Journal of Agricultural Economics
The SS-AAEA Journal of Agricultural Economics is an annual online publication of the Student Section of the American Agricultural Economics Association. The journal consists of agricultural economics articles written and submitted by undergraduate students to the annual AAEA undergraduate paper competition. However, papers may be submitted directly to the Journal if the student cannot attend the AAEA annual meetings. The Journal provides an excellent opportunity for students to list a professional publication on their resume. The articles are considered of peer-reviewed quality in that they are reviewed by established researchers and are deemed to address an important topic using appropriate scientific methodology. All research must be conducted under the supervision of an advisor at the student's institution.

Critique: a worldwide student journal of politics
Critique provides a forum for graduate and undergraduate students of politics to express and exchange diverse ideas and to imagine new possibilities for democracy and justice. The electronic format of Critique provides an alternative venue that expands political debate by creating space for the emergence of new ideas. Critique welcomes submissions year round from undergraduate as well as graduate students.
  The Dialectics: Undergraduate Journal of Leadership, Politics, and Society
The Dialectics is a refereed, multidisciplinary online journal devoted to undergraduate scholarship and discourse, is currently accepting high quality essays on issues of public importance. They search for papers that have a single thesis, are focused, identify significant societal and global issues, and offer creative solutions or specific recommendations for addressing the challenges. Students from undergraduate institutions in the United States or abroad are cordially invited to submit their work for review. Maintained at Penn State at Abington.
Indigenous Law Journal
A student-run legal journal with a mixture of Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal staff. We are the first and only Canadian legal journal to exclusively publish articles regarding Indigenous legal issues. The Journal is dedicated to developing dialogue and scholarship in the field of Indigenous law both in Canada and internationally. Original, unpublished submissions are sought from academics, students, judiciary, practitioners, or anyone else writing in the area. The journal will publish scholarly works of any form. IPE- Issues in Political Economy
IPE is committed to supporting and encouraging quality undergraduate research in all areas of economics. The Journal was founded on the belief that the best way to learn economics is to do economics. Through the process of research, writing, and peer review, students actively engage the discipline in a way not possible by simply listening to lectures and reading textbooks. In short, undergraduate research is a vital component in an economics education. The literature suggests that students take projects more seriously and learn more when the project is directed towards an external rather than an internal audience such as a class assignment. Journal of Criminal Justice and Popular Culture
A scholarly record of research and opinion on the intersection of crime, criminal justice, and popular culture. Review essays may include examinations of cultural artifacts (e.g., films, music, plays, television, newspapers, painting, architecture, computers, etc.) or academic expositions (e.g., books, articles, etc.) of some import to the intersection of crime, criminal justice, and popular culture. Commentaries may include expressions of opinion on developments and questions related to the intersection of crime, criminal justice, and popular culture. Additional special features may include treatments of the intersection of crime, criminal justice, and popular culture that do not fit in any of the other departments. Journal of Medicine and Law
[Michigan State University] A biannual publication dedicated to advancing legal scholarship in the medical-legal field. The Journal is the only student-reviewed medical-legal specialty journal in Michigan and one of only approximately ten in the nation. The Journal welcomes the submission of original and innovative articles on a wide-variety of medical-legal topics. The Journal is continuously striving to introduce well-written and meticulously researched papers into the academic discourse by soliciting scholarship from the best and brightest in the field, as well as from up-and-coming scholars who are working to establish their careers in academia. In furthering this purpose, the Journal accepts articles written by both academics and professionals. The Journal also accepts student-written articles on various topics.
Journal of Politics and Society
JPSis an interdisciplinary journal of undergraduate scholarship in the social sciences, published by the Helvidius Group of Columbia University. Founded in 1989, it provides a forum for young scholars to contribute to the global dialogue on a diverse range of issues, including problems of politics, economics, public policy, social phenomena,international relations, and law. In 2007, the Journal became the first commercially distributed undergraduate periodical in the nation. The forthcoming edition will be distributed among academics worldwide and sold in Barnes and Noble and Borders bookstores.
Michigan Journal of Political Science
The Michigan Journal of Political Science (MJPS) is one of the premier undergraduate political science journals in the country. It has been recognized by UNESCO, the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization, among the top 50 political science journals worldwide. The Journal is published biannually and has been in existence for over twenty-five years. The Journal accepts submissions from undergraduate students attending accredited universities worldwide. (The Journal does accept submissions from graduate students; however, these papers must have been written as an undergraduate). The Journal publishes high-quality submissions in the disciplines of Political Science, History, and/or Political Economy, including those focusing on statistical analysis. Both printed and on-line.
NASPA Journal of College and Character
The Journal is published by NASPA-Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education and sponsored by the Hardee Center for Leadership and Ethics in Higher Education and initiated through a grant from the John Templeton Foundation. The special focus of this journal is character development in college . how colleges and universities influence, both intentionally and unintentionally, the moral and civic learning and behaviors of college students. The Journal is asking college students to contribute short reflections on ethical issues or dilemmas they encounter during college.
On Politics
On Politics a journal published by the University of Victoria Undergraduate Politics Society. It seeks to provide an opportunity for undergraduate and master's level scholarship. While fully aware of the various concentrations available within contemporary political science, each issue of the journal is geared toward striking a balance between international relations, comparative politics, Canadian politics and political theory. The journal pursues academic scholarship that is mindful of the numerous theoretical orientations that may serve to enhance the structure of an argument. However, these orientations do not remain free from contention, and thus inter-theoretical debates are encouraged. With these broad aims and inclusive features, On Politics desires to present an accommodating format to disseminate scholarship of political nature from those who seldom gain the opportunity.
Penn Bioethics Journal
The Penn Bioethics Journal is the nation's premier peer-reviewed undergraduate bioethics journal. To submit a paper for consideration, the author must be an undergraduate student at a nationally accredited institution. The editors select a theme for each bi-annual issue of the journal. Submissions are encouraged, but in no means required, to correspond to the selected theme. Additionally, each issue of the journal features one or more interviews with prominent professionals in fields related to the issue theme. Their acceptance process is very competitive with submissions undergoing an initial review, a small-group review, and, if warranted a final review by the full editorial board. The journal's call for papers goes out internationally, with publication in professional journals and posting on related websites.
Texas International Law Journal
For over four decades, the Journal has earned acclaim and recognition as one of the top international/specialty journals in the nation by providing its readers access to cutting-edge legal analysis of recent international developments. The Journal publishes articles by scholars, judges, and practitioners; reviews of important recent books; and student-written notes. Among student-edited international law journals, the Journalis tied for third most cited by U.S. federal and state cases, and tenth most cited by law journals in the last eight years.

Columbia Undergraduate Journal of History
The Columbia Undergraduate Journal of History is a publication of the Undergraduate History Council at Columbia University. To solicit material, the Undergraduate History Council asks professors from history departments across the United States and internationally to nominate the most outstanding undergraduate work from their classes. They post all nominated articles, and then select from among them to be published in the Journal.
Electronic Journal  The Forum: A Journal of History
The Forum is a historical journal published at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo by students associated with the Cal Poly History Department and the university’s chapter of Phi Alpha Theta. The Forum welcomes submissions from students at all accredited colleges and universities. They firmly believe that the best means to further knowledge and foster the diffusion of ideas is to embrace an interuniversity approach.

Columbia Journal of Literary Criticism
The Columbia Journal of Literary Criticism is a peer-edited journal devoted to publishing rigorous works of undergraduate scholarship and to providing a forum for interdisciplinary critique. By publishing academic papers and hosting discussions with scholars within and outside the Columbia community, the CJLC encourages students to view themselves as vital members of the intellectual community they inhabit. The CJLC is looking for papers in the humanities that exhibit strong theses, internal coherence, and an engagement with academic scholarship.
The Oswald Review
The Oswald Review (TOR) is an international, refereed journal of undergraduate criticism and research in the discipline of English. A faculty member's endorsement is required.
Young Scholars in Writing: Undergraduate Research in Writing and Rhetoric
A peer-reviewed journal and refereed journal dedicated to publishing research articles written by undergraduates in a wide variety of disciplines associated with rhetoric and writing. It is guided by these central beliefs: (1) that research can and should be a crucial component of rhetorical education and (2) that undergraduates engaged in research about writing and rhetoric should have opportunities to share their work with a broader audience of students, scholars, and teachers through national publication. The Furman University Electronic Journal of Undergraduate Mathematics is an online-only journal designed to encourage undergraduate research in the field of mathematics. Its online nature allows quick publishing of mathematics papers, giving undergraduate students an opportunity to see their work published prior to their graduation. The Journal is refereed, and in addition each student or group of students submitting a paper must have a sponsor, who must be a full-time faculty member at a two or four year college or university.

A publication in between the extremes of purely undergraduate research journals, which in general are aimed at undergraduate audiences, and mainstream research journals. Such a venue is an important asset to mathematics researchers who wish to encourage the creative involvement of students in mathematical enterprises early in their careers.
Electronic Journal MEJAM - Morehead Electronic Journal of Applicable Mathematics
The Morehead Electronic Journal of Applicable Mathematics (MEJAM) is an interdisciplinary journal, sponsored by Morehead State University, which publishes the work of undergraduate students. The goal of MEJAM is to provide a refereed outlet for undergraduates in any discipline to publish quality papers and see the results quickly. MEJAM accepts papers which are outside the realm of the typical undergraduate curriculum and which emphasize the applicability of mathematics while maintaining significant mathematical interest. Papers may be historical, expository, or completely original in nature but must adhere to strict academic standards and should explore some aspect of the applications of mathematics.
NEXUS Network Journal: Architecture and Mathematics On-line
A peer-reviewed scholarly journal for scholars and students engaged in the study of the application of mathematical principles to architectural design. It appears twice yearly in print and on the Internet, and is co-published by Kim Williams Books, Turin, Italy, and Birkhaeuser Publishers, Basel, Switzerland. Its goal is to present the broadest possible consideration of all aspects of the relationships between architecture and mathematics. A logo contest is sponsored each year.
Pi Mu Epsilon Journal
The Pi Mu Epsilon Journal is interested in considering mathematical papers that may be of interest to readers of the PMEJ. Papers written by undergraduates are preferred. Submissions are accepted from any undergraduate student and membership in Pi Mu Epsilon is not a requirement. The Rose-Hulman Undergraduate Mathematics Journal is devoted entirely to papers written by undergraduates on topics related to mathematics. Although the authors need not be undergraduates at the time of submission or publication, the work must have been completed before graduation. The journal will be distributed freely in an electronic format (PDF) from the journal's web site. In order to maintain a high level of exposition, each paper must be sponsored by a mathematician familiar with the student's work and each paper will be refereed.

International Journal of Exercise Science
The primary aim of the International Journal of Exercise Science is to engage undergraduate and graduate students in scholarly activity as authors and reviewers as they develop into professionals. Journal for Nurse Practitioners
JNP is the official journal of the American College of Nurse Practitioners. JNP, provides a highly visible resource to help nurse practitioners stay current with the clinical, research, and policy concerns affecting their day-to-day practice. In addition to peer-reviewed clinical articles, JNP features continuing education opportunities and opinions and commentary on pressing legislative, regulatory, and clinical practice issues. Manuscripts submitted by students are welcomed and will undergo peer review. Student papers must be co-authored by a university faculty member who has worked with the student to ensure it is in publishable form. MJM - McGill Journal of Medicine
The McGill Journal of Medicine (MJM), published biannually in print, is an international, peer-reviewed publication run entirely by the medical and science students of McGill University in Montreal, Canada. MJM's mandate to provide a forum for students across the world sets it apart from nearly all other medical journals in circulation. The MJM offers all students an opportunity to publish the results of their scientific research or to contribute commentaries about pressing issues of the day. Graduate students, undergrads and medical students are invited to share their work. NSSLHA Now! is a publication of the National Student Speech Language Hearing Association. NSSLHA Now! publishes timely articles that have relevance to the interest of students studying the processes and disorders of speech, language, and hearing, and the diagnosis and treatment of such disorders, as well as articles on educational and professional issues in the discipline. University of Toronto Medical Journal
The University of Toronto Medical Journal (UTMJ) is Canada's oldest student run medical journal. They publish articles from universities, institutes, organizations, and medical professionals from around the world. The UTMJ, an official journal of the University of Toronto Faculty of Medicine, is devoted to the publication of significant, original studies and review articles in all areas of basic, clinical, translational, and epidemiological medical research, as well as medical education, medical ethics, medical jurisprudence, and the history of medicine. Submissions of editorials, letters, and comments regarding matters pertinent to the areas above are also welcomed. In addition, submission of case reports will be entertained.

Aporia   
An undergraduate journal of philosophy at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. Aporia is published twice yearly: an online edition in the fall, and a print edition in the spring. A national philosophy journal published biannually by Dartmouth undergraduates. Aporia accepts submissions from students at any college or university. Issues tend to center on a common theme that varies from publication to publication, but thoughtful submissions on any philosophical topic are welcome.
The Dualist - Stanford's Undergraduate Journal of Philosophy
A national undergraduate philosophy journal published by Stanford University undergraduates. Its purpose is to offer students an opportunity to participate in a normally inaccessible part of academic life -- the production and publication of papers for general philosophical readership.One of the most renowned and prestigious undergraduate philosophy journals in the U.S., featuring thoughtful articles authored by undergraduates around the world. Episteme - Denison University's Undergraduate Journal of Philosophy

Meteorite is Michigan University community's internationally-distributed undergraduate journal of philosophy, sponsored by the Department of Philosophy and run entirely by Michigan undergraduates. Rutgers University Undergraduate Philosophy Journal
Provides undergraduate philosophy majors and minors with a critical opportunity to publish their ideas and academic work in a competitive forum and to circulate these ideas in a professional setting. The journal is open only to undergraduates and is edited by undergraduates.
Stance: An International Undergraduate Philosophy Journal
Stance welcomes papers concerning any philosophical topic. Current undergraduates may submit a paper between 1500 and 3500 words in length (footnotes may extend the word limit 500 words at most). Stance asks that each undergraduate only submit one paper for the journal per year. Papers should avoid unnecessary technicality and strive to be accessible to the widest possible audience without sacrificing clarity or rigor. Manuscripts are evaluated on the following criteria: rigor, organization, clarity, balance of depth and breadth, intellectual struggle, significance of conclusion, and most of all originality.
The Yale Philosophy Review
An annual journal that showcases the best and most original of philosophic thought by undergraduate students, worldwide. The goal of the Review is to promote philosophic discourse of the highest standard, and to bring together a community of young philosophers in both the United States and abroad. Papers can be any length. All submissions should be double-spaced and in MLA format. Papers must be the original work of the author, with all sources and references properly cited. AJUR: American Journal of Undergraduate Research
A refereed international journal for undergraduate research in the pure & applied sciences, mathematics, engineering, technology, and related areas in education. Published four times each year in March, June, September, and December. Maintained by University of Northern Iowa, Department of Physics.
ASDL invites the submission of manuscripts describing the results of undergraduate research in the analytical sciences. These articles can be submitted at the logical point of a student's involvement in a research project, even if the research is carried further by other students at a later date. While the scope and depth of the research described may not be at the same level as that of a major research institution, the quality and merit of the presentation should be.
BIOS
BIOS, the quarterly journal of Beta Beta Beta Biological Society (MTSU - Kappa Delta), has been published continuously since 1930. Membership in BBB is NOT required for publication in BIOS. Purpose: to publish matters that pertain to the affairs of the Society, to publish articles by members, and to publish articles that will be of general interest to biologists. Many distinguished biologists have contributed manuscripts for publication in BIOS, written especially with the undergraduate reader in mind. Subjects covered include articles on current research, developments in biology, biology as a profession, as well as graduate and professional training for biologists. Special emphasis is placed on the publication of undergraduate research papers. BIOS is published four times a year.

Membership in ASM is required for the undergraduate competition.
Journal of Undergraduate Chemistry Research
[Virginia Military Institute] A peer review journal that will be published quarterly with papers of original research performed by undergraduates on all aspects of chemistry including analytical, organic, inorganic, physical, polymers and biochemistry. Authorship may be by the student or their professor. Submission implies that the material has not been published in or submitted to any other journal. JURIBE showcases research results of undergraduate students in bioengineering. Completed research projects are not necessary for publication. Nanoscape
The Journal for Undergraduate Research in Nanoscience provides undergraduate students with opportunities to experience writing and submitting original research manuscripts to a peer-reviewed journal. It disseminates the results of undergraduate research in nanoscience and nanotechnology to the wider community, and encourages undergraduate involvement in research opportunities. Launched in 2004, Nanoscape is an educational outreach project of the Northwestern University Nanoscale Science and Engineering Center (NSEC) for Integrated Nanopatterning and Detection Technologies and funded by the National Science Foundation.

Against the Current is a bi-monthly analytical journal. Published as part larger project of regroupment and dialogue within the U.S. Left, the journal presents varying points of view on a wide variety of issues. As such, debates are frequent and informative, with the goal of promoting discussion among activists, organizers, and scholars on the Left.
the birch - a journal of Eastern European and Euroasian culture
The Birch is the first national undergraduate publication devoted exclusively to Slavic, East European, and Eurasian cultures. Any undergraduate student at any college can submit work to The Birch. A group of Columbia undergraduates selects submissions and publishes the journal, which is completely student-run. Appearing twice a year (fall and spring), The Birch publishes work of three kinds: creative writing (poetry, prose, creative nonfiction, short stories), literary criticism (essays and book reviews), and essays on the culture and politics of the region.

Committed to publishing an interdisciplinary body of feminist knowledge that sees intersections of gender with racial identity, sexual orientation, economic means, geographical location, and physical ability as the touchstone for our politics and our intellectual analysis. Whether work is drawn from the complex past or the shifting present, the articles and essays that appear in Feminist Studies address social and political issues that intimately and significantly affect women and men in the United States and around the world.
Electronic Journal  The Grey Book: Online Journals of Middle Earth
The Grey Book is the first-ever online journal devoted exclusively to academic work by students in the field of Tolkien Studies. An annual, peer-reviewed publication sponsored by University Honors Program at the University of New Mexico, The Grey Book publishes multidisciplinary approaches to J.R.R. Tolkien's fictional and scholarly work primarily by undergraduate students. All articles considered for publication must be nominated by a faculty member of a university or community college.

The founding principle of the Journal of Universal Rejection (JofUR) is rejection. Universal rejection. That is to say, all submissions, regardless of quality, will be rejected. Despite that apparent drawback, here are a number of reasons you may choose to submit to the JofUR: You can send your manuscript here without suffering waves of anxiety regarding the eventual fate of your submission. You know with 100% certainty that it will not be accepted for publication. There are no page-fees. You may claim to have submitted to the most prestigious journal (judged by acceptance rate). The JofUR is one-of-a-kind. Merely submitting work to it may be considered a badge of honor. You retain complete rights to your work, and are free to resubmit to other journals even before our review process is complete. Decisions are often (though not always) rendered within hours of submission.
