COURSES
ABAS 3300 Equine Health. Familiarizes students health issues of hroses, care of the pregnant broodmares, foal care, routine health maintenance, infectious diseases, medications, dentistry, lameness, neurological diseases, colic, parasites, opthalmology, dermatology, reproduction, geriatrics, and alternative therapies.
ABAS 3310 Animal Care and Welfare. Applied aspects of animal care and welfare, including physical condition, feeding, proper housing, and environmental adaptation of animals to human interaction.
ABAS 4170 Equine Industry. Operational strategies and management issues facing the equine enterprises. Financial, legal, and taxation issues pertaining to the U.S. and international equine industry.
