The Albert Gore Research Center

is dedicated to preserving primary sources--letters, diaries, organization records, photographs, memorabilia, oral histories, and the like--that document the history of Middle Tennessee State University and the region that it serves. The center is open to the public and welcomes all researchers to use its collections. Find complete information at gorecenter.mtsu.edu.

I am the historian of colonial North America and the Atlantic world at MTSU. My particular interest is examining colonial America broadly and connecting it to people and events around the Atlantic Ocean.

I also work in the field of public history conducting oral history projects and developing multimedia historic tours. Click for information about my oral history workshops and other consulting activities.

On this site you will find syllabi and other materials from my teaching at MTSU and other universities; copies of papers I have delivered at various conferences over the years; and other information about my education, work experience, and other activities. Just follow one of the three links above.
