Will there be homework (in addition to assigned readings)?

Yep, sometimes take-home assignments are integrated into this class to help you better understand and apply the material . . . and to explore its relevance to you individually.  The types of homework will vary (it depends on what's appropriate, and mixing things up helps keep us out of a rut).

Some of these arrangements will require you to use the internet.  You may also need to use email on occasion.  If you have no prior experience with the internet or with email, IUS offers "jumpstart" lessons for either that can teach all you need to know in one brief session.  You can also go to an IUS computer lab (such as Crestview 112) and ask the lab assistant to show you how to use either.  They are typically very helpful in quickly bringing you up to speed (as long as you are polite in asking).
