Our 2014 Call for Papers

Welcome to Scientia et Humanitas, Middle Tennessee State University's research journal showcasing the best in undergraduate and graduate scholarship. Scientia et Humanitas is a print and electronic journal sponsored by the University Honors College. The purpose of the journal is not only to disseminate the important research conducted by MTSU's student body, but also to provide an opportunity for students to participate in the publication of that research while promoting interdepartmental faculty and student collaboration. By spotlighting the accomplishments of students, the journal also serves as a potent public relations tool both on and off campus.

We invite submissions from all current MTSU students and recent graduates working independently or in collaboration with other students or with a faculty member.

As we progress toward our third volume, we have expanded our call for papers to include work ranging in length from 10 - 30 pages (including works cited) on any topic within the scope of the natural and social sciences and the humanities. Students at all levels and of all disciplines are encouraged to submit their revised and previously unpublished papers or reports presented for classes, conferences, Scholars' Week, the Social Sciences Symposium, Honors theses or other research projects completed while a student at the university. Papers should include a brief abstract of no more than 250 words stating the purpose, methods, results, and conclusions of the research. Researches should employ the currently accepted standard citation format for major publications in their discipline. Once submitted, all papers will undergo a blind review process by at least two reviewers.

Please follow the links to view our formal Call for Papers or to Submit your work.

Thank you, and we look forward to reading your work.
