Dr. Saeed Foroudastan is the Associate Dean for the College of Basic and Applied Sciences, the Program Director for the Masters of Science in Professional Science, and a Professor of Engineering Technology at Middle Tennessee State University. In addition, he also serves as a faculty advisor for the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, the SAE Formula Collegiate Competition, and Experimental Vehicle Project Competitions. Included in these competitions are: the Solar Bike, Solar Boat, Mini Baja, Formula SAE, and the Great Moon Buggy Race, all of which are done in cooperation with the Department of Engineering Technology at MTSU. In recognition of his dedication to his students, Dr. Foroudastan received the 2002-2003 MTSU Outstanding Teaching Award in 2003 and Advisor of the Year in 2008. Dr. Foroudastan was selected for the MTSU Public Service Award in 2005.
Dr. Foroudastan received his B.S. in Civil Engineering, his M.S. in Civil Engineering, and his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Tennessee Technological University. He has six years of industrial experience as a Senior Engineer and fourteen years of academic experience as a Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor, and Instructor. He has achieved U.S. and European patents, published many technical papers, and has achieved over one million dollars in grants and external funding throughout his professional career.
