Welcome

Message from the President

It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the website of the Tennessee Conference of Graduate Schools, TCGS. This website provides useful information to prospective and current students, and the general public about TCGS, and links directly to member institutions' websites and their graduate degree programs.

TCGS represents more than 40 member institutions and serves the purpose of considering topics of mutual interests related to graduate education and research. In addition, TCGS shares and disseminates information on best practices for the advancement and improvement of graduate education among member institutions.

Graduate education and research is the engine that drives innovation, prosperity, and economic mobility, and TCGS is actively engaged in activities that improve the quality of the graduate education enterprise. The online degree programs, the massive open online courses, the soaring tuition costs, the increasing student debt load, and reductions in federal and state funding for graduate education present challenges and opportunities for higher education in Tennessee and across the nation.

If you are a non-member TCGS institution, we will be delighted to have you as a member, and contribute to the dialogue about graduate education in Tennessee. We hope this website is responsive to the information you are seeking, but please contact any of the member institutions nearest you if you have any questions about TCGS.

Sincerely,

Francis Otuonye, Ph.D.
President
